Employer matching

A lot of Wellington families work at companies that will match your donation to the PTA — sometimes 2x or more. Some will also donate to the PTA for every hour you volunteer. Below: who matches, how to submit, and how our treasurer can help.

Donation matching

You donate $X to the PTA. You submit a match request via your employer's giving portal. Your employer cuts the PTA a matching check, usually within 4–8 weeks. We end up with up to 2x your original gift at zero extra cost to you.

  • Most matches are 1:1, capped per employee per year.
  • Some match 2:1 or 3:1 — check your portal.
  • We're a registered 501(c)(3) — "Wellington Elementary PTA" in WA — most portals find us instantly.
Volunteer-hour grants

You volunteer at Popcorn Friday, Wolverines on the Run, or a field trip. You log the hours in your employer's volunteer portal. Your employer donates a per-hour grant to the PTA — usually $10–$25/hour. Stacking with a regular signup means your time becomes cash for classroom grants.

  • Microsoft pays $25/hour up to a generous annual cap.
  • Most programs require you to log hours within the same calendar year.
  • We can co-sign hours if your portal needs an organization confirmation — email the treasurer.

Not exhaustive — if your company isn't listed, check your benefits portal anyway. Most large employers have a program even if it's not advertised loudly.

    Huddle Up program — matches donations + grants for volunteer hours. Easy submission via internal portal.

    Matches up to $10,000/year per employee through Google's giving program.

  • Meta

    Matches up to $5,000/year + Dollars for Doers volunteer grants.

    Partners with employee giving via Benevity — matches donations dollar-for-dollar.

  • Federal Tax ID / EIN — email the treasurer and we'll send it the same week
  • Receipt / acknowledgment letter from GiveBacks (auto- emailed when you donate) or from the treasurer for volunteer-hour confirmation
